Code of Conduct

RAID is a space for creative technologists, artists, and researchers to share work, learn from each other, and connect. We want everyone to feel welcome, inspired, and respected throughout the event.

Be professional

We're here to meet like-minded people, exchange ideas, and collaborate. Treat everyone with the same professionalism you'd expect in your own workplace or studio. This includes being mindful of time, tone, and how you represent yourself and your work.

Be respectful

Give speakers your full attention and avoid interrupting or talking during presentations. Questions and comments are welcome at the end of each talk, but please keep them relevant and respectful. Curiosity is encouraged, but make sure your engagement helps build the discussion rather than derail it.

Respect the space

We're often guests in venues that open their doors to us. Please be considerate of the space, furniture, and equipment, and avoid leaving behind trash or drinks. Think of it as treating a friend's home: tidy up after yourself and leave things as good, or better, than you found them.

Contribute to the vibe

We value curiosity, generosity, and good faith. Share ideas freely, listen as much as you speak, and approach others with openness and respect. Healthy debate is welcome, but focus on ideas, not individuals. Small acts of courtesy go a long way toward creating a good atmosphere.

Zero tolerance for harassment

Harassment, discrimination, or any behavior that makes others feel unsafe has no place here. This includes verbal comments, physical conduct, or digital interactions that cross boundaries. Anyone asked to stop inappropriate behavior is expected to comply immediately.

If something feels off

If you experience or witness behavior that feels uncomfortable or inappropriate, please find an organizer or volunteer right away. We'll handle all concerns privately and take them seriously. Our goal is to keep RAID a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment for everyone.

A living document

This code of conduct is not comprehensive, and it may evolve over time as our community grows. We trust attendees to use good judgment and uphold the spirit of these guidelines. Updates or clarifications may be made as needed to reflect the values and realities of future events.
